PayByPhone now available in Belgium

PayByPhone, a provider of mobile parking payment solutions in 12 countries worldwide, is now also available in Belgium.

The app, which has launched in four municipalities in the Brussels region (Jette, Evere, Anderlecht and Molenbeek – Ixelles will soon be added) and in Charleroi, allows motorists to remotely pay for, extend and end their stay in paid parking spaces.

Paying for parking by smartphone is not entirely new in Belgium. PayByPhone claims to make the process easier and faster than its competitors – and above all to eliminate the risk of forgetting to pay (and the parking fines this generates). One PayByPhone account can be used to park more than one vehicles. An interactive map shows the parking locations throughout the city. And the app is even available on Apple Watch.

“PayByPhone is really going to change how Belgians pay for parking. We offer what’s needed to do this: an efficient and transparent app with an intuitive interface that makes it easy to park and avoids the risk of fines,” says Philippe Lerouge, the company’s co-founder and its CEO for Western Europe.

Founded 10 years ago, PayByPhone is now available in 500 cities throughout Europe (France, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Monaco, Italy, Spain, Austria, Ireland) and elsewhere (USA, Canada, Australia). The app has built up a customer base of 20 million users and is downloaded more than 350,000 times each month.
