VWFS to develop car subscription for VW Group
Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) is going to develop and implement car subscription models for selected brands in the Volkswagen Group. VWFS already has its own subscription product, launched in 2020 and called Auto Abo (pictured). The company will now set up a competence centre to create offers together with VW Group brands. The first such offer was a car subscription product for VW Passenger Cars.
The center will develop subscription models for VW Group brands based on individual needs, brand identity and product range. With the brands, VWFS will design the concept, provide the subscription platform, manage the vehicles and handle operations.
“Central development enables us to leverage synergies and transfer subscription models quickly to other markets,” says Stefan Imme, Chief Digital Officer for VWFS. “Subscriptions are the logical evolution of our business model. We’re looking forward to expanding this new and flexible form of mobility for the VW Group and closing the gap between our leasing and rental business.”
