ALD Flex: flexible leasing for the New Normal (and beyond)
ALD is launching ALD Flex, a flexible solution for corporate mobility that combines the advantages of full service with on-demand availability. “Greater flexibility is essential in these uncertain times, but also supports long-term fleet strategies,” says John Saffrett, Deputy CEO of ALD.
With its range of 1 to 24 months, ALD Flex is designed to help corporate fleets with their mid-term mobility needs. It complements traditional, longer-term full-service leasing, which ranges from 24 to 60 months.
Simple and cost-effective
The formula is set up to be simple, cost-effective and entirely online:
- On the dedicated booking website, customers pick a vehicle category (mini, compact, SUV, premium, small van, cargo van, etc.)
- They can then select from popular models, filtering their choice by price, transmission and powertrain type, and CO2 emissions level.
- The vehicle is then delivered to an ALD location or address of the customer’s choosing.
Customers get free upgrades if their category choice is not available, and free swap option after six months.
Plug and play
As a ‘plug and play’ solution, ALD Flex comes with an all-inclusive service package (maintenance, insurance, tires, breakdown assistance, replacement vehicle, and more). Fleet managers also get access to real-time vehicle data, for their reporting requirements.
ALD Flex, which can be terminated after just one month at no extra cost, can be a valuable option to manage short-term mobility needs, such as:
- Temporary projects;
- Seasonal peaks;
- Probation periods for new employees;
- New product launches with uncertain outcomes.
The short-term formula also is a good way to trial the introduction of EVs (or other types of new mobility) into corporate fleets, ALD says.
At its launch, ALD Flex is available in 19 countries throughout Africa, Latin America and in all major markets of Europe. By mid-2021, it will come online in 11 more countries.
