Cox Automotive acquires FleetMaster

Cox Automotive has acquired FleetMaster, a cloud-based fleet software company that delivers solutions to rental companies, dealerships and automotive manufacturers.

With this acquisition, Cox Automotive aims to expand its capabilities to customers and prospects in Europe by providing them with access to the latest mobility services across international markets, including rental, hire, flexible access/subscription and lease.

Martin Forbes (pictured left), President of Cox Automotive International said: “We are seeing an accelerated shift towards mobility services as both the ownership and usership model across the automotive ecosystem evolves. It is therefore vital that we can offer a more extensive offering to our customers and prospects internationally. Acquiring a business like FleetMaster with such a vast knowledge and expertise in this area is paramount to the growth of our mobility strategy.”

Frederik De Witte (pictured right), co-founder of FleetMaster, commented: “The addition of Cox Automotive's expertise and experience will truly add more value to our global customers, ensuring they can access the best tools and knowledge to support their businesses. As a family-owned company, Cox Automotive shares similar values to ours which was an important part in our decision to join them.”

FleetMaster has offices in Ghent, Belgium and Long Beach, California. The co-founders will continue to run day-to-day operations, reporting to Forbes.
