ARC Europe appoints Willem Aal as new CEO

ARC Europe, a leading supplier of B2B roadside assistance services in over 40 countries, has appointed Willem Aal as the new CEO, effective 1 June 2023.

Willem Aal will replace the Interim CEO Ilaria Caputo, who served for seven years as Group Chief Finance and Insurance Officer before her role as Group Chief Executive Officer ad interim during the transition period. Ilaria Caputo joined ARC Europe Group in 2015, playing a key role in strengthening the insurance development strategy and leading mergers and acquisitions activities in France, Poland and Greece. She will leave ARC Europe on 31 May 2023 to pursue new projects.

Willem Aal, who spent 16 years at the Dutch Automobile Club ANWB, will replace Ms Caputo as the new CEO on 1 June 2023. Mr Aal played an essential role in developing digital mobility services and solidified the position of the Dutch Automobile Club in electric assistance solutions. Having been appointed the new CEO by the Board of ARC Europe, Mr Aal will use his experience to drive ARC Europe's Pan-European B2B mobility business and guide its strategic roadmap. Mr Aal is highly familiar with ARC Europe, leading the Business Governance body since 2017, developing business partnerships and setting the strategic direction for the group.

"The Board of Directors trusts in the extensive knowledge and experiences of Willem Aal to drive our Pan-European B2B Mobility company and further develop our activities according to our strategic roadmap," said Claudius Leibfritz, Chairman of the ARC Europe Board of Directors.
