Otonomo launches new solutions for EVs and MaaS

The smart mobility data platform Otonomo has launched three new solutions to support Mobility as a Service (MaaS), electric vehicle adoption and urban planning.

Under the umbrella of Mobility Intelligence, the solutions all deploy machine learning and data science to allow for predictive, real-world modelling.

Using predictive performance metrics, MaaS companies can position their hire stations as closely as possible to clusters of demand, and allocate the optimum number of vehicles, whether scooter, bike, or car, in order to maximise ridership.

For EV charging companies, Otonomo’s EV Intelligence identifies the ideal locations for charging stations, including the mapping of underserved zones in primary EV corridors.

And city planners can use Otonomo’s Urban Intelligence to investigate mobility patterns in order to pinpoint the ideal locations for multi-modal hubs and design transport networks.

Ben Volkow, CEO and co-founder of Otonomo, said: “Using our mobility intelligence platform, our customers can understand the modes of movement in their cities and reduce CO2 emissions through the use of electric vehicles, smart city planning and more accessible mobility services.”

A more systematic use of real-time mobility data has become critical for cities as they try to solve the ‘livability’ and sustainability challenges presented by traffic congestion, noise and emissions, according to Claire Elnécavé, Senior Consultant at PTOLEMUS Consulting Group.

“The use of un-siloed, open-to-all data intelligence is a major part of the solution to build multi-modal transport and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and reduce the environmental footprint of transportation,” she said.
