ZF embraces a full supplier position for autonomous shuttle systems
German automotive industry supplier ZF is expanding its services for cities and urban mobility operators to better deal with congestion and reduce emissions.
ZF will be providing shuttle vehicles and all the supplementary services with immediate effect.
After the acquisition of 2getthere in 2019, ZF added fully-electric autonomous shuttle services to its portfolio. ZF is now complementing the mobility services it offers by adding planning, maintenance and repair of shuttle systems.
Better connection with rural areas
ZF will assist municipalities in the installation of the shuttle services, as well as providing consultancy on connectivity solutions to integrate the system into the local traffic infrastructures.
ZF believes operating shuttles in a separated lane structure is effective in battling congestion and carbon emissions.
Autonomous shuttle systems will strengthen the connections between cities and rural areas, according to ZF.
