Berlin offers home-made MaaS Jelbi
Berlin’s public transit system, the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) aims to become the Amazon of transportation.
The new app of BVG will not only allow riders to book public transit fares on all its routes via its app, but also to choose between various private transport operators. Among the choices are the shared bikes of Nextbike, the shared cars of Miles and the e-scooters of Emmy.
For your convenience, users only have to register once, submit driver licence and form of payment, and they are good to book a trip on all of these providers. On top of that, the app will generate separate invoices per service, while the rider only has to perform one payment.
So, what do you have to look for in your app store? Jelbi – the German slang for ‘yellow’, the signature of BVG.
