ALD launches its first MaaS solution
ALD Automotive has launched ALD Move in the Netherlands. It’s the company’s first Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) solution.
ALD Move is an application that combines real-time travel insight and advice with a range of mobility offerings. Its aim is, firstly, to improve efficiency and encourage responsible mobility behaviour – and ultimately to foster a holistic, flexible and smart approach to travel.
The app is designed as a mobility assistant, with three core services:
Each morning, ALD Move synchs with an online calendar to produce an optimal travel itinerary. Based on real-time data and predictive analysis, it takes on board weather, congestion and other traffic info. The result: optimal and alternative routes, including multimodal mobility options, when appropriate.
Missing addresses? Overlapping appointments? A dedicated chatbot, constantly improving via machine learning, helps troubleshoot calendar problems.
Not every trip is in the diary. An instant route planner provides optimal directions for spur-of-the-moment trips, while still taking into account existing calendar constraints.
ALD Move is the result of and beneficiary from ALD’s strategic partnership with Microsoft. Support by Microsoft’s Azure Cloud platform and digital services ensures the MaaS app is flexible, integrated and scalable.
- ALD Move can be paired with a mobility card, providing access to a complementary range of public-transport mobility alternatives.
- The app can incentivise certain mobility choices through an incentive programme, which can help stimulate smart mobility choices and reinforce corporate mobility policies.
- The app is not generally available just yet. In the coming months, ALD Move will be tested by 100 users.
“ALD Move is a clear example of how we use technology, partnerships and industry expertise to improve the day-to-day mobility of our clients,” says John Saffrett, Deputy CEO at ALD. “Once you’ve centralised mobility solutions through an open and collaborative community to make MaaS a reality, the possibilities are endless.”
