UbiGo (re)launches MaaS project in Stockholm

Swedish startup UbiGo is rolling out a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) offer in Stockholm (pictured). The aim is to offer a sustainable alternative to car ownership.

UbiGo's mobility app combines public transport, carsharing, rental car services and taxi in one on-demand service, with 24/7 support. The flexible monthly subscription is an account shared among all members of a household, easy to top up and with the option to transfer unused credit to the next month.

As a first step, a pilot will be rolled out in March 2018. A full rollout in Stockholm is scheduled for the end of 2018, with other cities in Sweden likely to follow. The project is a relaunch of a small pilot in 2014, with 70 paying households. Since then, UbiGo has worked to integrate public and commercial mobility services, refining its business and service concepts.

For this rollout, UbiGo is working with Fluidtime, a provider of IT systems for MaaS concepts that is part of the Kapsch Group. With its cloud-based data platform FluidHub, the company has created an open ecosystem which integrates local and (inter)national mobility services and meets the challenges of smart cities & regions.
