Electric Vespa: ciao, Elettrica!

It's been in the works for some time and here it is: the all electric Vespa Elettrica. With a range of 100km, it can be recharged in 4 hours. Don't run to your dealer just yet - the new Vespa is only available for pre-order at this moment.

Starting in November, to coincide with the EICMA 2018 motorcycle show in Milan, the Vespa Elettrica will be launched across Europe, later to be extended to the USA and Asia.

The Vespa Elettrica has the same classic lines you know from its conventional sisters and brothers. There are of course blue accent lines on the scooter - the designers at Piaggio adhere to the universal law in the automotive industry that blue equals zero- or low-emission.

The power unit offers top power of 4kW which Piaggio claims is enough to outshine traditional 50cc scooters, particularly in terms of acceleration and hill starts.

The maximum range of 100km is available after a 4 hour complete recharge, which can be done in any power outlet or at a charging point.

Piaggio sells the new Elettrica for €6,390 in the main Eurozone countries compared to €3,500 to €4,000 for conventional Vespas. A finance solution for €99 is also available in selected markets.
