BMW reveals second-gen X4

BMW X4 2018 Geneva

Lower, wider, longer, sexier: that is how you could describe the second-generation X4, which BMW will be showing to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in a few weeks. The coupé derivative of the X3 shares most of its underpinnings with the latter, but focuses on a sportier driving experience. Power comes from a choice of 3 petrol and 4 diesel engines, which all come with 4x4 and an 8-speed automatic as standard.

Fuel efficiency should benefit from the relatively low coefficient of drag (Cd) of 0.30 and the weight loss of 50 kilos compared to the outgoing model. Connectivity has become BMW's middle name, so expect a plethora of connected services and a seamless smartphone integration. The boot can take 525 litres and features an electric lid.
