Bridgestone and EVBox to build 3,500 charging points across Europe
Netherlands-based EV charging specialist EVBox and tire manufacturer Bridgestone are working together to add 3,500 new public EV charging points at Bridgestone retail and service locations throughout Europe, including brands like Speedy and First Stop.
The project, which has a five-year runtime, will kick off in France and Italy, will then move to the UK, Germany, Poland and Spain, and will conclude in various other European countries.
The charging stations will be accessible to all EVs, both private and corporate. Quick-chargers will be strategically placed close to busy traffic corridors.
The collaboration will be facilitated by TSG, a leading player in Europe for technical services to the charging industry.
It will provide EV drivers and fleets with access to one of Europe’s most extensive charging networks, with over 130,000 charging points – as well as the 3,500 new charging points. Access is enabled via the pass or app provided by EVBox. Also, the projects offers the option of installing a home charger.
The solution also centralises payment and invoicing – from Madrid to Helsinki.
