Ford uses 470 recycled bottles for every EcoSport
Sustainability is hip and so more and more brands are putting recycling at the heart of their media campaigns. Following in the footsteps of Volvo, its former parent company Ford announces it is recycling plastic bottles to turn them into carpets for its cars.
Every new EcoSport is home to 470 single-use recycled plastic bottles. Since Ford launched the EcoSport globally in 2012, it has provided a new lease of life for more than 650 million 500ml bottles, weighing an estimated 8,262 metric tons.
Since first using recycled plastic in Mondeo more than 20 years ago, Ford now recycles 1.2 billion bottles globally per year.
