Hyundai Kona now available as a hybrid

Hyundai's successful B-segment crossover expands its engine lineup with the hybrid powertrain of its cousin, the Kia Niro. That means a 1.6 direct-injection petrol engine mated to a permanent-magnet 32kW strong e-motor and a 1,56kWh battery via a 6-speed automated dual clutch transmission.

Expect CO2 ratings and performance to be similar to the Kia Niro Hybrid, i.e. about 90g/km under correlated NEDC terms (115g/km under WLTP) and 11 seconds to hit the 100kph mark from a standstill.
