Lucid opens first European showroom in Munich

Lucid opens first European showroom in Munich

Californian EV startup Lucid walks the talk. The previously announced launch in Europe is starting on May 13 2022, with the opening of a Lucid Studio in Munich. More markets will follow shortly, like the Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland.

According to the press statement, the Studio is a “luxurious retail space" and will be officially inaugurated this Friday at Odeonsplatz in Munich. Lucid’s showrooms aren’t dealerships, but part of a direct-to-consumer experience, much like the Tesla stores.

At the same time, Lucid has unveiled pricing for its first four European markets. The Air, an all-electric luxury liner comparable to the Mercedes EQS, will be available as a Dream Edition Performance or a Dream Edition Range. Those are self-explanatory badges which carry identical prices.

German customers pay 218,000 euros, in the Netherlands it’s 220,000 euros, while Swiss customers must reserve 199,000 francs and Norwegians 1.8 million kroner. Deliveries start at the end of 2022. More versions, like the base model Pure for around 100,000 euros, are also on the agenda.

The other key markets set to follow aren’t difficult to guess since the California-based carmaker is already taking pre-orders in the following additional EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Monaco, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
