Mitsubishi winds down in Europe
Mitsubishi Motors has announced it will no longer be bringing new models to Europe, choosing to focus on Southeast Asia instead. Sales of existing models will continue.
Today, Mitsubishi’s newest model on sale in Europe is the Eclipse Cross compact SUV, which was launched in 2017. Plans to replace its Outlander flagship SUV have been cancelled.
Mitsubishi assures its European customers it will continue having an aftersales presence.
The reorganisation is part of a wider review of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, which has been struggling of late. As part of this plan, the company will also close its Japanese factory that produces the Pajero SUV.
On Monday, Mitsubishi forecast its second consecutive year of financial losses.
