Polestar launches new pan-European charging service

Polestar launches new pan-European charging service

Company car drivers with a Polestar can now access a pan-European public charging network of over 650,000 charge points, following the launch of Polestar Charge.

The new service is a partnership between Polestar and Plugsurfing, and is the first OEM app in Europe to incorporate Tesla Supercharger stations that are open to non-Tesla drivers.

Via the Polestar Charge app, drivers will also have access to 500 international and local networks in 27 European countries, including IONITY, Recharge, Total, Fastned and Allego.

Subscription option

A new subscription service offers a 30% discount off charging fees at 28,000 chargers in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK, for a monthly fee of EUR 13.99 (£11.99).

A smart integration of Polestar Charge with Google Maps will help drivers plan optimal charging stops along their routes, and activate the pre-conditioning of a car’s batteries to enable the fastest possible charging speeds.

Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, said: “With access to the largest networks in Europe and smart integration in Google Maps, we have made it easy for Polestar drivers to enjoy life with an electric car rather than worrying about where they will find their next charge.”

European deliveries of the new Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 are due to start later this year.
