Opel unveils new Mokka and Mokka-e
Last week, Opel unveiled the new Mokka, the SUV variant of the Corsa. It can still be had with petrol and diesel engines but the full electric variant will also be available from launch.
The new Mokka is 12,5 centimetres shorter than the outgoing model but has a slightly wider wheel base (2mm). It is also the first Opel to feature the new Vizor front.
The technology of the Mokka-e is identical to that of the Corsa-e, producing 136hp/260Nm with a 50-kWh battery that can be topped up to 80% in 30 minutes. With a full charge and a cautious driving style, this should bring you 322 kilometres from your starting point (WLTP).
The Mokka will be equipped with systems like advanced cruise control, traffic sign recognition and active lane positioning.
Two widescreen displays provide the driver all necessary information and Opel is convinced the system allows for intuitive operation with physical buttons for the most important functions.
In Germany, prices for the petrol version start at €19,999. The Mokka-e will set you back €32,990 on its home market. With local incentives applied, this price is brought down to €23,420.
