New Alphabet CEO to speak at Fleet Europe Summit

Marco Lessacher, CEO of Alphabet International, has been confirmed as speaker at the Fleet Europe Summit 2019, which will take place on 6-7 November in Estoril, Portugal.

On the second day of the Summit between 11.00 and 11.45am, Mr Lessacher (pictured) will take to the main stage to address the topic: “Say ‘Yes’ to the democratisation of fleet electrification”. In this session, he will offer his – and Alphabet’s – view on the trend of the increasing uptake of EVs. Audience members will have the opportunity to get answers to specific questions in an interactive session.

Taking over from Alphabet’s long-standing CEO Norbert van den Eijnden only last July, Mr Lessacher is the newest member of the exclusive club of major lease company CEOs. The previous entrant to the club is Alain Van Groenendael, who replaced Philippe Bismut as Arval’s top exec at the start of 2019. The Fleet Europe Summit will be the first chance for the fleet community to hear Mr Lessacher speak as Alphabet CEO at a major industry event.

Mr. Lessacher started his career in 2007 at BMW Group. He has held a number of CEO functions, including at BMW Financial Services and Alphabet Germany. At BMW Group, he was subsequently Head of International Corporate, Direct and Special Sales. In 2017, he took on responsibility for BMW Group’s Financial Services business in Central and Southeastern Europe. He continued to develop that region, with its 11 markets, in his next role as Chairman of the Board at BMW Austria Bank.
