Daikin UK outsources carbon-neutral fleet to Alphabet

Following a fleet review, Daikin UK has chosen Alphabet as the sole supplier of its fleet. The partnership operates on a two-marque basis (BMW and Lexus), and on the principle of contract hire with maintenance – plus some additional products (including daily and extended rental, accident management and driver risk).

Daikin is a global specialist in air conditioning, heating, ventilation and climate control. Its UK division, headquartered in Weybridge and with offices throughout the country, employs more than 300 and operates a fleet of around 150 cars and 25 LCVs.

“We’re keen to bring more hybrids into the fleet because we’re serious about our environmental responsibility and ensuring that business operations are carbon neutral,” said Richard Truttero, General Affairs Manager at Daikin UK.

Over the past few years, Daikin UK has planted a tree for every ton of carbon it created – for a total of more than 80,000 trees at present. The collaboration with Alphabet will focus, among other things, on Daikin’s continued journey towards carbon neutrality.
