Glomex starts 2015 with successful event on efficient corporate mobility
More than 100 industry peers attended the Glomex New Year event on Thursday January 22 2015, which took place in the Dorint Amsterdam Airport-Hotel in Badhoevedorp.
Among the participants were representatives from different mobility management stakeholder categories, including Meeting & Incentives, Automotive, TMCs, and Air. Daan Bieleveld, Global Mobility Manager at DSM, explained how his company is developing an integrated mobility policy for its employees, focusing on sustainability. DSM is a global science-based company specialized in Health, Nutrition and Materials. While it may still be too early to talk about a dedicated smart mobility approach today, Daan Beieleveld is convinced that this is the way ahead. The mobility approach of DSM is focused on increasing sustainability, reducing TCO and providing safe and competitive employee benefits. A first success is the positive reception of the private car lease initiative with the more than 5,000 employees in the Netherlands, but also abroad where DSM has a total of more than 20,000 people. The private lease formula is an agreement instigated by the employer but it is a contract directly between employee and supplier. The employee can choose the vehicle she/he wants up to a maximum of 140 grams of CO2 emissions per kilometre.
René Klawer, President of VNO-NCW West, presented his vision on inter and extra city mobility. He pointed out that accessibility and infrastructure are key for corporate mobility – not only in the area of road transport, but also public, rail and air transport – and that an efficient mobility vision takes into account cross-border mobility.
The presentations of these mobility specialists can be found on the Glomex website.
