Transparent pricing for Berlin EV charging

In Germany, energy supplier GASAG has partnered with energy systems enterprise ubitricity, which specialises in energy from renewable sources, to work together on a cable and invoicing system for e-mobility. The two companies believe that there is a very bright future for electric cars, particularly in cities. And it is precisely in cities, where people tend to live in multi-occupancy homes such as apartment blocks, that a comfortable recharging procedure is the most problematic.

The two Berlin-based companies have therefore instigated a system whereby users pay a fixed monthly amount for an intelligent cable, which automatically calculates the price of the electricity taken, from whichever charging point is used. The companies are also enabling private charging points to be installed – in houses or offices – with the same simplified and transparent invoicing procedure.
