CarNext plants a tree per month for every used car sold

From today, CarNext customers have the choice to compensate for the carbon emissions of the used vehicle they purchase. LeasePlan's online remarketing portal commits itself to plant a tree per month for every car sold. It's the world's first scheme for offsetting the emissions of used vehicles.

CarNext is introducing it in partnership with Land Life Company (pictured) on the occasion of the UN's International Day of Forests on 21 March. Land Life Company is a world leader in sustainable and tech-driven reforestation. Its mission is to reforest two billion hectares of the world's most degraded land.

“None of us can just sit back and wait for others to act,” says Ewout van Jarwaarde, Managing Director of CarNext.com. “Climate change is one of the biggest issues of our generation and by each doing our bit we can help to make a difference.” The offer is available to CarNext's Dutch customers from today and will expand to CarNext's other markets in due course.
