Now's the time to buy a used 4x4 - BCA
Vehicle remarketing company BCA urges has said that potential buyers of used 4x4 vehicles should move quickly before the onset of winter pushes prices up. The phenomenon – the counterpart of the increase in price of convertible cars before the summer – has already started. BCA has recorded an average price rise for 4x4’s of 7.3% in October compared to September.
Commenting on this, Tim Naylor, Editor of the BCA Used Car Market Report, explained: “The correlation between falling temperatures and rising prices for 4x4 vehicles is well charted. For many motorists, particularly those living in rural areas, a 4x4 is becoming a necessity in winter. Buying now, before the arrival of snow and harsh winter conditions, could be a prudent move. When it comes to choosing a 4x4, buyers should go for the best specification they can afford, as this will help the vehicle retain its value. Alloys, leather interior, air-con and sat-nav are all desirable, while more ‘rugged' accessories such as mounted spotlights, running boards and winches can drive prices up too”.
