Do you know where, how and whom to sell your used cars to?
Find out at the Fleet Europe Remarketing Forum next week – last tickets!
As the automotive industry is transforming from a car-moving business to a 360-degree mobility venture, customers are trading in ownership for usership. The line between corporate and private consumers is blurring – and so are the arguments to resist EV adoption.
But there is so much more going on. The used car sales channels are shifting and so are customer preferences, impacting the way leasing and rental companies, importers, dealers and traders will do business in the near future.
Which are the trends you should put your finger on? Find out at the Fleet Europe Remarketing Forum in Estoril on 6 November 2019 – for which the final tickets are now on sale.
To give you a taste of what to expect, here are the key topics:
1. Diesel: after the correction, time for a reassessment
Is diesel not so bad after all and does it still have a long-term perspective? The introduction of WLTP and the new emission standards have had a serious impact on the powertrain choice, as Matthias Popp, Global VP Testing Services of Business Line Transportation, SGS will explain. Massimo Fedeli, Co-founder and Operations Director, AIR Alliance will share his insights on the truth about diesel and petrol emissions.
2. Electrification will spike in 2020
Europe needs car makers to lower their weighted average fleet CO2 emissions to 95g/km, hence the mass introduction of more affordable EVs and plug-in hybrids. How to manage the residual value risk? Christof Engelskirchen, Chief Economist, Autovista Group will cast a look in the near future. Will hydrogen have a place in it? Yes, if you ask Bart Biebuyck, Executive Director, Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking.
3. The C2C marketplace is booming
In search of a digital reality check of the main European used car websites? Johan Verbois from 5S Consulting will offer you exactly that. Ian Wright, Managing Director at Automotive Performance Management will outline what there is to expect from the C2C business and how you can efficiently reach out to it.
4. The European borders are changing
Brexit is still not a done deal, but the consequences for the used car business will vary from minor to disastrous depending on the outcome, as Christoph Louvard, CEO at Autobiz will explain. At the other side of Europe, Turkey could be opening up and offer opportunities, as you will learn from Emre Ayyildiz, General Manager at Turkey’s leading automotive rental group Garenta.
5. New technology is changing customer preference
New technologies impact remarketability and residual values risks and should guide your RV setting, procurement strategies and company car policies. Pierre Nordmann, Head of Data & Automotive Residual Value, Groupe Argus is happy to share his view on the evolving consumer attitudes.
6. Mileage fraud is a big issue
CARA (European Car Remarketing Association) has been leading the way to support efficiencies in the remarketing ecosystem, giving support to remarketers across Europe. Roland Gagel, Board member CARA Europe & Vice President Field Services, SGS, advocates a more harmonised standard against mileage fraud. Icing on the cake: Wolfgang E. Reinhold, Chairman of CARA will be highlighting CARA’s vision on European Car Remarketing in 2020 and beyond.
7. Innovation is the key to progress
It leads to new insights and fresh business models. The Fleet Europe Car Remarketing Award is a prestigious accolade honouring a company that brings valuable innovation to the used car management scene.
