Fleet Europe Car Remarketing Award 2019: meet the 5 finalists
Innovation is what drives business efficiency, profitability and progress, also in the remarketing industry. As such it deserves to be rewarded with a prestigious accolade – such as the Fleet Europe Car Remarketing Award: a recognition by experts of the added value provided by a company in the used car industry in the shape of an innovative product or service.
This year, 10 companies entered their application for the 2019 Fleet Europe Remarketing Award and after careful examination, the jury selected 5 finalists, based on criteria such as the degree of innovation, the impact of the solution on TCO and/or residual values, the ease of implementation, the ROI and the future potential of the solution.
The 2019 shortlist for the Remarketing Award, (in alphabetical order):
1. Adesa – IVI: sell your car before it is even de-fleeted. IVI stands for Intelligent Vehicle Inspection, an AI-based solution empowering drivers to carry out their own inspection, using a smartphone or tablet, before they hand back a company car or financed vehicle. The driver is guided through a simple self-appraisal which includes a pre-defined image capture walkthrough, removing the need for third party inspections, saving significant time and costs. The technology enables vehicles to be remarketed online before they have been de-fleeted.
2. Aston Barclay – Cascade: a seamless flow from appraisal to sale. The company’s three business units combine to create Aston Barclay Cascade. Their digital solutions connect with a network of six physical centres to ensure transparency and dedication to maximising performance. Aston Barclay Cascade allows vehicles to flow seamlessly from appraisal to either digital disposal or physical auction, generating time, cost and environmental savings whilst driving residual values by reducing days to sell.
3. Mercedes-Benz Energy – Energy Storage Solutions: lowering TCO and supporting e-mobility. As a Daimler subsidiary, MBE is responsible for optimising the value of the battery during the time it is not present in the vehicle. New spare batteries are stored in an Energy Storage System (ESS) and used for frequency regulation. The ESS system generates revenues by providing flexible grid capacity. When there is demand for a spare battery, it is taken out of the ESS and swapped with a used battery. This raises the availability of the fleet and lowers TCO.
4. Proovstation – automated vehicle inspection: 3 seconds to scan cars for damage. A drive-through bay generates a 360-degree photo scan of your car in less than 3 seconds, increases the accuracy of damage recognition while reducing inspection costs up to 50% and improving trust during the liability shift. The AI module identifies all the damages present on a vehicle and generates an encrypted report that cannot be falsified.
5. Vinturas – blockchain for the vehicle supply chain: paperless, safe and real-time. The Vinturas platform connects all logistics service providers in Europe, providing one overview of all logistics activities for its remarketing customers. This enables fleet owners to manage their supply chain real-time and fully paperless. Electronic Proof of delivery and digital damage handling will create significant opportunities to reduce costs and lead time. Blockchain provides on top of that immutable data and documents. As such, it helps combat mileage fraud, VAT and import tax evasion.
These finalists will be present at the 2019 Fleet Europe Remarketing Forum in Estoril on November 6, where they each get 5 minutes to pitch their solution. The winner of the award will be announced in the evening at the Fleet Europe Remarketing Awards Ceremony & Dinner.
