New Remarketing Award to celebrate OEMs

Not one, not two, but three awards will be presented at the Fleet Europe Remarketing Awards this November in Lisbon. The newest one will celebrate the contribution of a car manufacturer – or one of its national sales companies or importers – to the European remarketing industry.

For the past few years, the Remarketing Awards have provided festive closure to the annual Fleet Europe Remarketing Forum. As per tradition, that Forum – the annual all-day gathering of Europe’s finest vehicle remarketing experts and professionals – is scheduled on the first day of the Fleet Europe Days. Their 2023 edition will take place in Lisbon on 22 and 23 November.

In other words, the 2023 Remarketing Awards – the most coveted prizes in the European remarketing industry – will be handed out on the evening of 22 November. Two awards, dedicated respectively to innovation and experience, will remain the same as last year:

The Fleet Europe Remarketing Innovation Award 2023

This award will celebrate an innovative project, product or service by a remarketing service provider in Europe and/or beyond that contribute to the efficiency and transparency of remarketing in an international context.

The Fleet Europe Remarketing Hall of Fame Award 2023

This award celebrates a person who over the course of their career has made a significant contribution to the development of the international remarketing industry – so, not just by serving their own company, but by elevating standards and expectations across the wider industry.
At the Remarketing Awards in November 2022 in Dublin, Wolfgang Reinhold, president of CARA, the European Car Remarketing Association, was the very first inductee into the Remarketing Hall of Fame. The third award to be added to the list this November will be:

The Fleet Europe Remarketing Car Manufacturer Award 2023

Manufacturers, their national sales organisations and their importers, play an important role within the remarketing value chain; and this award is a long overdue recognition of that fact.
The award will identify and celebrate a project by an OEM (or one of its aforementioned local organisations) that is aimed at strengthening Residual Values (RVs), used-car sales volumes, or the remarketing process in a more general way.

Some hypothetical examples of such a project include:

  • A certified pre-owned programme;
  • A process that generates faster stock rotation and/or higher resale prices;
  • A system that secures the most optimal RVs for used vehicles.

All OEMs (either via their global, regional or national HQ) are invited to submit applications for this award, as are their national sales organisations and importers. The project they submit may be global, regional or even national in scope. In the latter case, it should be a pilot programme that has shown results, and is scalable to higher levels.
