The Best in Class 2018 according to Euro NCAP

If you’re planning to crash your car, you’d better do it in a Mercedes-Benz A-Class, a Lexus ES or a Hyundai Nexo as these cars have won the annual Euro NCAP Best in Class award for 2018.

The A-Class is best in class in the small family car segment, the Lexus ES is best all-round performer in the large family car category and the Hyundai Nexo is the best of the large off-roaders.

The Lexus ES also claimed Euro NCAP’s new award for best performing hybrid or electric car.

Michiel van Ratingen, Euro NCAP Secretary General, said: “In 2018 we introduced tough new tests, with a particular focus on vulnerable road user protection. The three Best in Class award winners this year all clearly demonstrate that car-makers are striving for the highest levels of protection and that Euro NCAP’s assessments are a catalyst for these crucial safety improvements.”
