Euro NCAP adds Norwegian Public Roads Administration as the newest member
Euro NCAP, determined to improve road safety in Europe since 1997, added the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) as its new member.
NPRA, responsible for all road safety in Norway, pursues the goal of decreasing accidents resulting in death and severe injury by 2050. Along with European member states, regions, mobility clubs, consumer organisations and auto insurers, NPRA is the newest member in the expanding traffic safety network.
Norway plays a critical role in the transition to electricity, as Oslo is recognised as the EV capital of the world, where over 80% of new cars sold are EVs. Road transport dominates the country where almost the 5,5 million population owns 2.9 million passenger cars.
NPRA will contribute to Euro NCAP by developing advanced safe technologies in Norway and supporting European smart mobility development. Collaboration in the development of safety technologies will also benefit mutual technical know-how.
