Why should fleet managers apply for this Award?
John Dmochoswky: “One of the most powerful ways a fleet manager can support his or her external and internal members is to give them the recognition they deserve. All of the members on your team have goals that make an impact on the well-being of their employees. Submitting award nominations generates positive awareness about your team successes and commitments. For winners, recognition by Fleet Europe is a significant achievement for the fleet manager, their team and key stakeholders.”
What advice do you have for the fleet managers who want to apply for this award and what do they need to highlight in their candidacy?
“Ownership. Authenticity. Storytelling. Three key components for delivering a successful award submission. Each fleet manager has a success story that is uniquely their own and it is important to stay true to who you are, how you run your business and back the information up with supporting KPIs.”
“Further, make sure there is also a focus on how collaboration worked among the team members and how solutions were obtained to overcome the different points of view.”
What has winning this award brings to you in your career and your fleet management project?
“I am incredibly honoured to be recognised with this award last year because it represents a collective team effort in a category we acutely focused on and prioritised. To earn the recognition from the organisation, further solidifies our strategy was on point and effective.”
How do you believe the role of the fleet manager will evolve with the restart after COVID-19 and the move into the New Normal of our business?
“Fleet managers must adapt and remain flexible as they navigate their teams through COVID-19 and prioritise the safety of team members to limit the spread of the virus. Further, they must proactively work to protect with drivers and address driver-specific concerns, including how to sanitise high-touch areas in vehicles such as steering wheels and door handles, steps to manage stress in challenging times, no-touch delivery requirements for residences and businesses, masks, personal sanitation, and social distancing.”
