ALD Leaseplan steps into car-sharing for Belgian B2B customers

ALD LeasePlan

ALD LeasePlan starts offering corporate car sharing in Belgium in cooperation with mobility provider Moovee. As the market for car swapping keeps growing steadily, the leasing company believes that it must meet the needs of young employees and fleet managers working for Belgian companies.

Though car sharing for companies isn't new, it has primarily proven to be popular among private customers. However, as the employee's needs change and the fleet managers' hassles rise, ALD LeasePlan has set up a car-sharing program for its Belgian B2B customers.

The offer is a collaboration with sharing mobility specialist Moovee. Employees can book a professional or private ride on their app with split billing provided automatically. The billing service is compatible with the leasing company's mobility app, ALD Move. Moovee's app also functions as the digital key to the car, whereas fleet managers can monitor the vehicles through their platform.

Green powertrains only

Aside from cost benefits, car sharing is also a more sustainable mode of transport. To lower the CO2 footprint even further, ALD LeasePlan exclusively connects the program to green drivelines, ranging from hybrids to electric and hydrogen vehicles, including LCVs.

"We notice that young employees in particular, are looking for alternatives to traditional private car ownership. The combination of car-sharing and the hassle-free nature of our operating leases works," comments Johan Portier, Country Managing Director at ALD LeasePlan in Belgium.

Before the merger with ALD Automotive, LeasePlan was a forerunner in B2B car sharing. Its web-based service Swopcar was launched seven years ago and proved successful through its ease of use. SwopCar is still active in Poland and Luxembourg.
