SIXT to expand e-mobility in Europe with all-electric vehicles of BYD

SIXT, an international provider of mobility services in over 100 countries, has partnered with global EV manufacturer BYD to boost electric mobility in Europe.

The partnership's initial step includes ordering several thousand battery electric vehicles (BEVs) from BYD, which will be available for SIXT customers in Europe in the last quarter of 2022.

In the following years, SIXT plans to order up to 100,000 additional purely electric vehicles from BYD while exploring potential cooperation opportunities worldwide.

BYD vehicles will be available to customers in Germany, France, the Netherlands and the UK first, and the first model is announced as the European style, C-segment SUV BYD ATTO 3. In time, other BYD models will become a part of SIXT's European fleet, depending on European customers' needs.

The partnership aims to offer all the quality, comfort and safety BYD has developed, including the Blade Battery technology, which provides improved safety, durability and performance for EVs. Blade Battery offers extensive heat resistance, eliminating fire risk under any circumstances.

SIXT, which aims to electrify its European fleet up to 70%-90% by 2030, aims to ramp up eMobility in Europe through the partnership. Under this goal, SIXT is also establishing its charging network, expanding the reach of the SIXT app and seamlessly integrating the ONE Mobility platform to hundreds of thousands of public charging points.
