Parking zones for Bird scooters in Paris

Following the recently announced safety and legal measures the city of Paris has taken to curb scooters, Bird announced it will create designated parking zones for its scooters.

Bird will direct its scooter riders to parking zones in predetermined locations in the city to improve overall road safety. Via an in-app feature, parking zones will be created virtually based on visual reference points, real-time navigation and an alert-sending system. In addition, Bird will enforce its measure through geofencing and the Bird Watcher programme, through which people will be hired to move scooters to parking spots. Yet, the parking spots are not fixed and can be changed after consultation with the city. Moreover, the parking spots are not mandatory although riders will get money off their next ride if they use them.
