Belgian corporate mobility cards offer DriveNow

Modalizy and XXImo, the two main providers of all-in-one mobility cards for corporate use in Belgium, from now on will offer DriveNow as part of their range of products and services.

Consequently, Modalizy and XXImo customers can use their mobility cards to use any of the 310 DriveNow vehicles available in Brussels to get from A to B in the Belgian capital, and to Brussels Airport just outside the city.

Expanded offer

The expanded offer enhances the range of mobility solutions on offer by both Modalizy and XXImo, adding another option to the travel modes on offer to customers of both mobility cards.

DriveNow, a joint venture between BMW Group and Sixt SE, offers free-floating car-sharing, is available in a number of European cities, including Munich, Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Vienna, London, Copenhagen, Brussels, Milan and Lisbon. Its BMW and MINI premium vehicles can be picked up and left behind at any location within a defined area of operation.

6,000 vehicles

DriveNow boasts more than 6,000 vehicles (20% of which are electric BMW i3 cars) and more than one million registered users. Studies show one DriveNow vehicle replaces at least three private cars – an important contribution to the fight against traffic congestion and pollution.

“The fact that our card holders now can use a free-floating car-sharing service within Brussels, including for trips to the airport, is a valued complement to the broad range of mobility options already offered by Modalizy – i.e. fuelling, public transport, taxis, and more”, says Etienne Rigo, Managing Director at Modalizy.

Flexible solutions

“Car-sharing is an ideal fit for our vision, and increases for our card holders at client companies including Athlon, LeasePlan, Q8 and Alphabet the range of flexible solutions already on offer for their corporate mobility”, says Patrick Bunnik, CEO at XXImo.

For DriveNow, the collaboration with both Belgian mobility card providers is a first big step towards the corporate market, says Christian Lambert, Managing Director at DriveNow Belgium: “Nearly a year and a half after our Brussels launch, we already have more than 20,000 registered users”.

Great leap forward

“Offering our services to corporate customers via XXImo and Modalizy is a great leap forward, both for employers and employees – and for society in general, because DriveNow is a smart alternative to company cars. In this way, DriveNow, Modalizy and XXImo together are contributing to the richness of the mix of urban mobility solutions that we will use in the future”.
