Europcar extends further into scooters
Belgian residents – in Brussels and Antwerp – will not have failed to notice the growing number of green scooters on the streets. This is arising because the scooters are operated by Belgian start-up Scooty, which has just been acquired, via its subsidiary Ubeeqo, by Europcar. The scooters, of which there are 176 at the moment, are electric and used on a free-floating basis. They feature the Europcar slogan ‘Moving your Way’, along with a ‘personalised’ version (not connected to any particular renter) ‘Moving Charlotte’s Way’, or another name.
Some months ago Europcar, which is increasingly entering the overall mobility domain with offerings beyond hire cars, also acquired Cityscoot, which operates in Nice, Geneva and Milan.
