Vaigo is Smart Mobility Start-up of the Year

Vaigo has won the Smart Mobility Start-up of the Year Award. The company received the prize on Thursday at the Fleet Europe Summit 2019 in Estoril, Portugal.

The Belgium-based start-up enables employers to implement smarter, flexible mobility policies by taking on the administrative hassle.

Vendor management
The company unburdens fleets of mobility services vendor management, from managing B2B-contract to encapsulation of a wide range of consumer applications. Customers also select Vaigo for its ability to enable a multi-MaaS strategy across different regions.

“Vaigo is the connection between flexible mobility policies, employers and their drivers,” said CEO Roeland Vanrenterghem on Wednesday, in his pitch at the Smart Mobility Area of the Fleet Europe Village.

European expansion
“Why we won? I think because we provide a really unique solution that solves the problem of HR directors,” he said on Thursday, receiving the award (in blue shirt).

The growing Vaigo team is currently operating from Brussels, serving customers in Belgium, Germany and France. Further European expansion is on the roadmap.

Together with their first prize, Vaigo received a media support package from Fleet Europe equivalent to €10,000.

The winner was determined by a combination of jury votes (70%) and public votes (30%) via the Fleet Europe Summit website.

Runners-up
The two runners-up were also lauded for their achievement. Second place was for Nauto (€5,000). Nauto’s retrofittable device assesses how drivers interact with the vehicle and the road ahead and warns them to prevent collisions

Third place went to Chargery (€2,500), a full-service platform for future mobility.

All prizes were awarded by Edwin Maria Colella, VP Mobility Sales & Marketing at Octo, sponsor of the 2019 Smart Mobility Start-up of the Year Award.
