VW to launch EV car sharing service
Starting in 2019, Volkswagen will offer electric shared cars in several German cities. The following year, the service will be extended to include cities across Europe, North America and Asia.
This new initiative will compete with BMW's DriveNow and Daimler's Car2Go, which will soon be merged.
In 2016, Volkswagen created its Moia mobility services division, aimed at ride hailing and car pooling. Moia will now be extended to include the new car sharing service which will be branded as WE/We.
