Nissan and Pod Point expand in Norway
Electric vehicle charging provider Pod Point has expanded both its partnership with Nissan and its presence in Norway after being appointed the car maker’s preferred supplier for home chargers in the country. The three-year contract will see Pod Point install home chargers for Nissan’s range of plug-in vehicles, which includes the LEAF and e-NV200. Pod Point has been an official supplier to Nissan UK since 2015 and has been working with Alliance Partner Renault Norway since 2014.
Pod Point has installed more than 6,000 units in Norway since it began operating in the country in 2014 and it expects sales to significantly increase following its partnership with Nissan. The Scandinavian country is leading the world in EV sales, with hybrid and plug-in vehicles accounting for more than 50 per cent of new car registrations in 2017, according to data from the independent Norwegian Road Federation (OFV).
Pod Point CEO and Founder Erik Fairbairn comments: “We already have a great relationship with Nissan in the UK and we’re delighted to expand our relationship with our new partnership in Norway. Of course, Norway is very much leading the way when it comes to EVs and everything we learn from this market is what we expect to see in the UK within the next five years.”
