More time to pay Romanian fines

There has been a change in the law in Romania, involving the payment of traffic violation tickets. Previously, motorists were required to pay half of the amount of the fine within 48 hours of the ticket being issued, but this period has now been extended to two weeks. For the time being, this new law applies to offences committed on motorways, but it is intended that it will be extended to other types of offence in due course. Specific bank accounts are being established into which the drivers can pay their fines.
