Goodyear to offer tyre for electric vehicles
Following in the footsteps (or should we say tyre marks) of competitors Michelin and Continental, Goodyear is bringing to market tyres designed specifically for electric vehicles.
EVs need special tyres because they offer more torque and they are heavier than conventional cars, causing tyres to wear out much faster.
The new EfficientGrip Performance prototype with Electric Drive Technology (pictured) boasts an innovative tread design, a high-load-carrying construction and an extended driving range.
In a first stage, Goodyear is launching summer tyres. Winter and all-season variants are expected to follow soon.
