Tyre management for mobility of the future

Continental's tyre management system for AV and EV fleets Conti C.A.R.E

Continental has launched a tyre management system, Conti C.A.R.E (Connected. Autonomous. Reliable. Electrified), for autonomous and electrified fleets.

In combination with web-based ContiConnect Live, Conti C.A.R.E provides flexible tyre management for modern autonomous vehicles, like robo-taxis, boosting performance and helping optimise costs, Continental claims.

Inbuilt car tyre sensing

Sensors built into the structure of the tyre generate and evaluate data concerning tread depth, possible damage, tyre temperature and pressure. This monitoring system, referred to as ContiSense, transmits information on tyre condition to ContiConnect Live.

Self managing tyres

In addition, tyre pressure is actively adjusted by centrifugal pumps built into the wheel. As the vehicle accelerates, centrifugal force triggers the pump to generate compressed air. This maintains pressure, in line with the ideal range, which helps achieve a sustainable drop in CO2 emissions.

Continental says Conti C.A.R.E facilitates efficient mobility management for fleet operators.
