Alphabet now offers StreetScooters

StreetScooter GmbH, a subsidiary of Deutsche Post offering fully-electric LCVs, has chosen Alphabet as its preferred operational leasing partner in Germany and the Netherlands. 

StreetScooter is not just the name of the company, but also of the vehicle type (pictured). This compact, fully-electric LCV was designed and manufactured since 2014 by Deutsche Post for postal and parcel deliveries in urban centres. Deutsche Post DHL Group aims to complete 70% of its pick-ups and deliveries with electric vehicles by 2025. 

The partnership, effective immediately, was partly inspired by the proliferation of emissions-free zones in city centres across Europe – necessitating the development of an eco-friendly logistics solution, specifically for urban areas. Alphabet clients can now lease StreetScooter vehicles via the Business Mobility solution. The full operational lease formula includes service and maintenance, damage repair and more.

For Alphabet, the partnership is a way to further promote eLCVs, says Carsten Kwirandt, the leasing company's Head of Marketing and Business Development:  “Since 2013, our comprehensive eMobility solution AlphaElectric has successfully supported many clients in optimising their fleets. Currently, we have around 25,000 fully-electric, plug-in hybrids and eLCVs in our global portfolio”.
