Emov launches Lisbon's first EV carsharing

Building on its success in Madrid, where it has gathered 160,000 customers since its launch in December 2016 and now operates a fleet of 600 Citroën C-Zero electric vehicles, carsharing service emov is opening for business in Lisbon.

Emov, an alliance between PSA subsidiary Free2Move and Spanish mobility startup Eysa, will roll out its services in the Portuguese capital from April, with one extra: beyond the city-centre, emov users will be able to start and end their journeys in close proximity to the city's airport facilities.

The emov fleet in Lisbon will initially consist of 150 Citroën C-Zero EVs. Emov is the first carsharer in Lisbon to operate an all-electric fleet. Both residents and tourists will be able to access the service through their smartphones.

Emov is eyeing further expansion this year in another major city in Spain, and will soon roll out a corporate accounts solution in Madrid. This will enable large companies, SMEs and startups to manage employee travel at a savings of up to 50% compared to conventional car and driver solutions.
