10 features that make the new BMW 3 Series the benchmark
The Dreier remains the core fleet model for BMW. To put it in other words: the stakes are high for this 7th generation. Here are 10 features that make the Bavarian saloon the new benchmark in the premium D segment.
- 76 mm longer and 16 mm wider body results in more cabin space and luggage capacity (480 litres).
- Streamlined body: active air flaps, air curtains and an almost completely sealed underbody reduce aerodynamic drag to just 0.23 (Cd).
- Wide engine portfolio: from 318d to 330d and 320i to 330i, with NEDC correlated CO2 emissions starting at 112 g/km.
- Optimised acoustic properties: foam-filled A-pillars and acoustic glass for the windscreen as standard, doors with acoustic glass optional.
- Enhanced driver assistance systems pave the way to automated driving: Collision and Pedestrian Warning with Braking function, plus Lane Departure Warning system, now standard.
- New BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is an intelligent digital personality integrated into the car. It helps the driver with numerous tasks, enhancing productivity and on-board entertainment.
- Thoroughly revised control and display system. Standard specification includes instrument cluster with screen size increased to 5.7 inches and Control Display with screen diagonal up from 6.5 to 8.8 inches.
- Optional BMW Live Cockpit Professional comes with a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 10.25-inch Control Display with consistently designed, situation-linked and customisable displays.
- Remote Software Upgrade keeps the car up-to-date.
- BMW Digital Key for accessing the car and starting the engine via smartphone.
