Sixt launches app for all-digital fleet management

Following a successful pilot, Sixt Mobility Consulting (SMC) is launching an app for entirely digital fleet management, across five major European markets. ‘The Companion’ allows all SMC clients and their drivers the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks related to their fleet vehicles 24/7.  

The app offers, among other things, easy management of notifications and push messages, which is especially practical for tire changes; an improved method for vehicle reservations; and reminders for vehicle maintenance and driving permit checks. ‘The Companion’ offers SMC customers high levels of comfort, efficiency and transparency, the company says. 

Available for download from Apple’s app store and Google Play, ‘The Companion’ is already up in Germany, and will come online in Austria, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands before year’s end.

In other news, SMC has appointed Véronique Charbit as the new general manager for its subsidiary in France. Ms. Charbit has more than a quarter century’s experience in the leasing and fleet management industry. 

From 1993 to 2006, she was head of customer management at Leaseplan France. For the next 12 years, she was country manager for Fleet Logistics France, then COO for Traxall France. As GM for SMC France, she is tasked with generating rapid growth.
