From red to green: Coca-Cola adds 10 electric Hyundais to its fleet

Coca-Cola is adopting electric vehicles in its European fleets, with Norway as its logical center of gravity. The latest country to go electric - in a relatively modest way - is Belgium: Coca-Cola European partners Belux has just received the keys to 10 Hyundai Kona EVs.

"At Coca-Cola European Partners Belux, we believe that the permanent greening of our fleet is very important. This is in line with our sustainability action plan "This is Forward": by 2025 we will reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of our business by 50%. The new Hyundai Kona EV fits perfectly into that picture." says Marc Devos, Senior Manager, Fleet EU (picutred on the right, next to Hyundai Belux MD Olivier Sermeus).

Coca-Cola's Konas are leased through Arval and carry a 64-kWh battery offering a WLTP range of 449 km. The latter used to be 485 km, incidentally, but Hyundai found that errors had been made during the homologation test cycle and had to adjust the official number. The technically similar Kia e-Niro sees its homologated range decline decline to 455 km.
