Mediahuis is Belgian Fleet Owner of the Year
More than 400 of Belgium’s top fleet professionals gathered in Brussels last week for the annual link2fleet Forum and Awards. The big winner of the evening was Sandra Eemans (pictured middle), Fleet Administrator at Mediahuis, a Belgian-based newspaper publisher and broadcast media owner.
Ms. Eemans was selected as Fleet Owner of the Year, succeeding Thomas Tomme, Utility Fleet Manager at Eandis, a major electricity distributor in Belgium. Second place in the Fleet Manager of the Year category went to Peter Van de Velde (KPMG; pictured left), third place was for Michel Van Dongen (USG People; pictured right).
Green Fleet
Other laureates of the evening include Paul de Gheldere (NETiKA) winner of the Green Fleet of the Year award, Peter Van de Velde (KPMG) winner of the Fleet Mobility of the Year award, and Alain Allyn (Modalizy) and Frédéric Stiernon (CarPay Diem), joint winners of the Fleet Innovation of the Year award.
New for this year’s edition were a few extra prizes, including a Fleet Dealer of the Year award for each of Belgium’s three regions; these were won by Volvo Lacom (for Flanders), Llorens (for Wallonia) and the Group Jean-Michel Martin (for Brussels). Another innovation was the Lifetime Achievement Award, won by Michel Van den Broeck.
Luxembourg
Another batch of prizes were awarded in Belgium’s smallest neighbour last week, at the 7th annual Luxembourg Green Business Awards – with Sales-Lentz winning the Green Mobility Award.
The company has put in place an EV charging station to research ‘opportunity charging’, and has set up Diffbus, the world’s first 100% electric communal transport network. Smart mobility solutions supplier Sales-Lentz also won the Green Strategy of the Year award.
