DHL brings EVs into its fleet

DHL Express has introduced 10 new electric vans into its London fleet and announced plans for a further 400 by 2025.

The company is on a mission to achieve zero logistics-related emissions by 2050. The new Renault ZE Masters vans have a range of approximately 75 miles and payload capacity of 10 cubic metres. The first group of vans will be serving customers from service centres in and around the UK capital.

Battery innovation makes EVs plausible

Richard Crook, Director of Fleet at DHL Express said: “Recent innovations with battery range and technology mean we can now deploy these more sustainable vehicles as part of our fleet.”

Alex Williams, TfL’s Director of City Planning, said: “Freight and servicing are the lifeblood of London’s economy, but it is important we work to reduce its impact on our Capital’s toxic air and global climate change.”

DHL is also trialling cycling solutions in a number of UK cities, including London, Manchester and Leeds.
