Franz Fehlner is the 2021 European Smart Mobility Manager of the Year

Franz FEHLNER, Global Category Leader Fleet Management & Services at Allianz, was awarded the first prize for European Smart Mobility Manager of the Year.

The European Smart Mobility Manager of the Year Award is about excellence in a strategy that goes beyond the vehicle fleet programme, and addresses the complete employee community with an offering of alternative and innovative mobility modes next to the company car. The result is a programme that leads to a more efficient employee mobility, in terms of cost, time and carbon footprint and supports the wellbeing of the employees.

The jury was impressed by Mr FEHLNER’s efforts to design, create and implement (across several countries) a standardised mobility policy that includes company cars, bicycles and trains – a policy that allows only BEVs or PHEVs, which will result in a major sustainability benefit for Allianz. 

Mr FEHLNER manages a fleet of 24,371 vehicles worldwide, of which 23,142 in Europe. 

This award was presented by Martin GURNEY, Head of Group Fleet Sales at Polestar.
